2022 Update: We continue to monitor the situation and respond accordingly. If anyone on our staff is ill and has tested COVID positive, we will seek to reschedule. If there are any specific local or building rules, we will comply as needed.
9/27/21 Update: Our current COVID status is that we are fully operational at this time for indoor and outdoor photo shoots. Furthermore, our photography crew will follow local mandates applicable to vaccinated individuals, which may indicate wearing masks in some localities. Due to some areas with indoor mask mandates, we are preferring to do our sessions outdoors as long as weather permits.
8/1/21 Update: With COVID variants Delta and Lambda making the news, it would be professionally irresponsible if we did not acknowledge the impact the rise in positive COVID cases is having in our area. Our current COVID status is that we are fully operational at this time for indoor and outdoor photo shoots. Furthermore, our photography crew will follow local mandates applicable to vaccinated individuals, which may indicate wearing masks in some localities.
6/1/21 Update: With the State of Ohio rescinding all Public Health orders as of June 2, we consider our business as fully operational at this time for indoor and outdoor photo shoots, with the following notes: (1) If you have a photographic session scheduled with us and are feeling unwell, we ask that you let us know and consider rescheduling your appointment. (2) If you live with someone who has a current positive diagnosis of COVID-19, we ask that you reschedule at least two weeks later, to allow for any remnant illness to clear before risking exposure to yourself or our staff.
5/1/21 Update: We continue to monitor the current situation regarding COVID outbreaks, case numbers, and how those relate to our current bookings for photo sessions. Currently, all sessions for May are outdoors, and the CDC guidance on outdoor spread of COVID is that with more ventilation and being in less closed-in spaces, the spread is less risky. Due to being outdoors, and with the greater availability of vaccines, masks while outdoors is considered optional for staff and our subjects. Indoors, we will follow health guidelines and continue use of masks.
3/1/21 Update: We continue to monitor the current situation regarding COVID outbreaks, case numbers, and how those relate to our current bookings for photo sessions. Our photographers and assistants are all wearing masks for all sessions, indoors and outdoors. Subjects being photographed should keep their masks on up to the point where the photographer has them in their pose and ready, then remove their mask for the photo, and then put their mask back on.

8/1/20 Update: With the difficulty of a global pandemic upon us, we are looking at how back-to-school, fall sports, and photography all fit together. We believe we have a plan that achieves safety and fits within the guidelines. The following protocol has been approved by our local county health district. The guidelines for contact tracing (defining close contacts) require less than two barriers (masks), persons closer than 6 feet, AND for prolonged exposure of 15 minutes or more. The following plan works because no one is without their masks for more than 15 minutes. For this plan to work, all parts must be followed:
1) Everyone including staff, assistants, and subjects being photographed shall keep their masks on at all times, unless actively being photographed.
2) All subjects being photographed shall maintain social distancing (6′ / 2m) while not actively forming groups for group photography.
3) When forming groups for group photos, subjects shall gather quickly, while wearing masks, allow the photo to be taken, and re-place their masks before dispersing.
5/1/21 Update: The events scheduled for the spring seem to have been canceled indefinitely due to the situation with COVID. We will update this blog post with further updates as they become available. In the meantime, all of us at AMACPHOTO wish everyone continued safety and good health.
